Welcome to the TM8 loudspeaker. A completely new low distortion driver designed in Finite Element Analysis here in North Carolina. Our TM8 uses our custom tooled cast aluminum basket with an integrated rain shield and a very shallow mounting depth of only 2.3″. Twin shorting rings lower and linearize inductance for an Xmax:Le ratio only found in significantly higher priced loudspeakers. With good sensitivity and 7 mm of Xmax the TM8 effortlessly provides pant-leg-slapping midbass. Power handling and linear inductance characteristics are accomplished by its 50 mm voice coil with solid copper windings mated to the pure aluminum cone body. The pure aluminum cone body was carefully designed with the best strength-to-weight ratio to allow for proper frequency extension and strength for midbass / deep bass extension. Perhaps most importantly is the combination of the copper voice coil, CZA former, and aluminum cone also offer tremendous thermal advantages as they all work in tandem to extract and disperse heat from the voice coil which increases thermal power handling.
We designed our TM8 with a higher-than-average Qts. The main install location for our TM8’s is in a vehicle door. A vehicle door is a very lossy enclosure that closely mimics an Infinite Baffle alignment. To achieve the most performance from an Infinite Baffle alignment you want your Qts to be close to a 0.707 Qtc alignment of a sealed enclosure, which is why our TM8’s Qts is in the 0.8 region. With our Qts close to a 0.7 it yields the best combination of low-frequency extension and natural output capability. Our TM8 is for those of you who want a plethora of midbass capability without sacrificing mounting depth and/or price.
Our TM8’s primary purpose is for use as a midbass driver. Its on-axis frequency response does extend up to 4,500 Hz so it can be mated to our M3 Carbon midrange and M25 mkII tweeter for a 3-way setup or mated up directly to our M25 mkII tweeter for a 2-way setup.
In-vehicle frequency range is 27 Hz to 7,000 Hz. We recommend a high-pass crossover frequency of 40 Hz or higher. Recommended high-pass crossover slope is equal to, or greater than, 24 dB/octave. Recommended crossover frequency for a 2-way setup is 3,000 Hz. Klippel measurements can be viewed by clicking the images above.

I am still in process with testing these but so far I am very impressed with them. My reference is the discontinued JL Zr800 midbass. I removed them and with no changes I started to evaluate the TM8. First off, they were not as loud with the same settings but the TM8 sounded smoother. The volume level can be simply addressed with a little more gain adjustment. After listening with a gain setting of 45hz, these things rock with the 150 watts RMS that I am sending to them. There is a ton of impact and I heard no signs of struggle with the drivers. It looks like they have much more output to give and sound great. I posted an informal youtube video of them in action. I am not paid for this. I do not work for SI. I am just happy with my purchase.
I will continue to evaluate and post a follow up after I have some real listening time on these. For the moment, I am rating these at 4 stars simply due to them not having the output of my comparison drivers.

I have been using SI drivers for a long time.
Few years back, I told Nick, you have to make 8″ driver. He said most people are fine with 6.5″ well as I mentioned to him, things are changing, people want more impact and your shallow design of a mid-woofer will be perfect! Well he finally did it!
I have installed one pair in my car and i was blown away, simply hands down! best mid bass driver for their, and I had many of them JL ZR800, Blam, Focal, and other
The review doesn’t end here, I had my nephew come by from different state to do a small install, it turns out we installed 2 TM8 up front, of course doors needed to be treated, and also we added 2 more in his rear deck. The car sounded wonderful, got loud and clean. We didn’t put a sub in because he needed that extra room for travel and space! I have to say in my honest opinion, they rock, very well build drivers. easy of install, sound great. Giving them 150W rms per ch, was enough to keep 21-year-old happy due to space limitations.
You simply can’t go wrong purchasing SI product, from support stand point and passions for music!
Nick and SI team, Thank you!

Recently installed a set of M25MKII, M3 and TM8’s in the front doors of my 2020 911 C4S, and a M3 in the center dash. Along with sound deadening in the doors as step 1. The TM8s in particular made the biggest improvement. After installing a Match Up10 and doing a proper 1 seat tune, the system sounds incredible. FYI the M3’s and M25MKII’s are both a tight fit for the 911 992 model, but workable. The TM8 in particular offers a ton of clean workable bass for a mid bass module. Get your doors/door card well sound proofed or you will hear rattling from this puppy as it puts the Bose system to shame.
