Testimonials

¬ "I used my traditional playlist of tracks to put the woofer through its paces - Eva Cassidy, the Eagles, Dave Matthews, Fleetwood Mac, Chris Izaak, John Williams. In particular, "The Chain" on Fleetwood's Rumours brought a big smile to my face The transient response, the individual attack of the notes, the blending to the front stage...it all was effortless. Same with Eva Cassidy's "Wade in the Water" and "Wayfaring Stranger". Both are tracks that have made some pretty high-profile subwoofers choke in my opinion, but this Mag handled it with aplomb..."Wade in the Water" has some really neat stuff halfway through it with a stand-up bass playing a 7 note walking line while a muted trumpet does its thing...like any good subwoofer, the Mag reproduced what was on the recording without drawing attention to itself. In retrospect I really wish I had some Mingus with me, I bet Mingus Ah Um would be amazing... It's not scared of the orchestra, either. Kettle drums on Williams' score for "Revenge of the Sith" were extremely accurate and extended very deep. If you're looking for a small, sealed-box woofer and realism is your number-one priority, I don't see how you could leave this driver off your list. Power-wise, it really doesn't need a lot of power to shine - I would say 500-600W is all you need to get it to perform admirably. Two thumbs way up." - JimJ

¬ "After owning the [26 subs], and hearing just about every sub you could think of in other people's cars the SI 15" was the best sub I'd ever owned. Awesome sound quality (great accuracy, natural, blended VERY well with front stage, no bad peaks, good low end, good punch, sounds good with all music and doesn't need Eq'd to death). And my god did it get loud with 1000w, ported and sealed just got SOOOOOO loud. With 2000w its just a monster, I mean just crazy loud even sealed."

¬ "I find flaws everywhere else in the system but the subwoofer. Un-EQ?d it is the finest example of (to use a cliche' word) tonal accuracy I've heard to date...The unadulterated capacity to get obscenely loud, matched with tight, transient bass is simply too much to pass up if you're in the market for a "super-woofer". Thumbs up Nick, you did a heck of a job."

¬ "I received my 15" IS D2. I opened the box and WOW! That's about all I could say for about 10 minutes or so. I was so impressed with the basket and motor structure I decided to mount it basket out. Very nice piece of equipment. I must say I have never heard such accurate, but loud bass notes. I am powering it with a [1200 watt] amp in a 2.9 cubic foot sealed box. Thank you for such a quality product at a reasonable price!"

¬ "As with my Claw, nothing you threw at it could phase its performance, only now, it was louder, not even near my normal listening levels. It took the fast kick drums low bass lines and everything in between and really reached another level."

¬ "Let me tell you, I have never, ever heard New York Minute, Hotel California, or Life in the Fast Lane as accurate as I hear with the Mag. The Kick drum blended perfectly with the mid-bass making a perfect blend of beat and tap (if you record you kind of understand what I mean) (you can actually hear not only the Deep bass from the kick, but the tap from the kick pedal hitting and ringing on the head of the drum) IMO this make the perfect blend from Mid-bass to sub-bass. ...In all, I enjoy the extreme low end from this sub, it is more then able to shake my truck apart. It can make my back wall and window flex with only 500rms."

¬ "There is simply no comparison between these and the [other subs] in the punch category. These things completely annihilate the [other subs] in higher frequency reproduction in a box that doesn't exactly facilitate higher frequencies.  It's... just... a whole lot better. ...The D2s sound much cleaner going from low to high, high to low, MUCH LESS SLOPPY. They keep up with double kick drums flawlessly."

¬ "These things are in fact retarded, I could feel the bass in my kidneys... I'm in a HUGE car with a trunk and they were still punching me in the back.... I've never had that to this degree in my car before...
300 WATTS EACH! I'm simply amazed, even though I knew they could do it, I'm still amazed!"

¬ "You guys impress me with the quality of the products you produce. I have been in the car audio field for about 10 years now and
this is by far the best subwoofer I have ever heard."

¬ "After about 12 hours of playtime, all I can say is you a customer for life. Hands down best sub I have owned in 22 years of playing with car audio. I am beyond impressed, I stand here with my mouth gaping open. It does NOT matter what I throw at it, it sounds incredible."

¬ "This combination has proved to be AMAZING!! The sub sounds like it's coming out of the very center of the dash/windshield area!!! The biggest surprise about the Mag so far has been the ungodly amount of authority it has down low while still remaining "invisible.""

¬ "As lots of you know, Disturbed loves the use of their dual kick drums and theirs seem to be tuned lower than most bands. So a sub ends up having to reproduce VERY rapid double kicks. There is a drum solo right around 3:30 of this track. The Mag reproduced everything perfectly. I don't even remember the DIYMA R12, which has been my reference sub for SQ, reproducing that solo as well."

¬ "This is a great sounding driver. Talk about bass up front...the kick drums literally sounded like they were coming from the speedometer in Zach's car (the speedo is somewhat in the center of the dash) and it blends very well. It sounded great on all kinds of music. I was beyond impressed."

¬ "On to the Mag. We listened to the Mag for about an hour and a half. I brought a few CD’s and he played a few selections to demonstrate certain characteristics. This is my first experience with a 12” subwoofer. I have only ever had single 10” subs in my vehicles. My misconception has been that 12’s are primarily for SPL – sloppy sounding – not for the sound quality application that I desire. I was very impressed by the overall sound – very quick, deep, and accurate."

¬ "Performance of the Mag was outstanding. The Mag sounds fantastic right out of the box with little or no tuning - a rare achievement. The low end sound was really smooth and soft but the Mag also played 100Hz and above very well."

¬ "Even though the sub is still breaking in, output was better than expected. The Mag will get very loud off lower wattage than most of us are used to, especially considering it is in a sealed enclosure. Sensitivity was exceptional and another added bonus."

¬ "In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say the SI Mag is the best all-around subwoofer I've ever used. I still love the DIYMA 12 but the Mag is a fantastic subwoofer without any (glaring) flaws and should fit just about anyone's need for a great sounding driver that also has great output in a small enclosure. Nick should be congratulated on a great product that really delivers. I liked this driver so much, I just bought another!"
