No problem at all, it will be fine to downfire the BM's.

That is good news...
I am planning a new system for my girlfriend: Eclipse CD7200mkII DLSA1 --> ID Horns CD1PRO DLSA4 --> ID X57 or X65 (not sure which one will fit) DLSA2 --> SI BMv.2 under the driver seat

I have two questions:
I want to use the BMv.2 in a downfire box. On the website, you say "shalow mount design 3.5" ". 1-- Is that the mounting depth or the depth of the woofer top (cone) to bottom (frame)? Having like 3/4" for the wood thickness (top of the box) + back clearance for the woofer + mounting depth + 3/4" for the wood thickness (bottom of the box) + 3/4" of clearance (for xmax). 2-- What would be the the thinnest box possible. Thank you, Kelvin

3.5" is the mounting deth of the woofer. If you were using .75" material you could have an enclosure that is 4.25" deep overall.

I'm sorry I don't quite understand how it can be that shallow.
Doesn't it need to be like that? wood thickness 3/4" clearance of let's say 3/4" woofer's depth of 3,5" wood thickness 3/4" clearance for excursion 3/4" wouldn't that be at least 6,5"? Please correct me if I'm wrong or if clearance is not needed for the BM in a downfire box. Thank you, Kelvin

Kelvin, 0.75" of the mounting depth is accounted for in the MDF, so that takes the interior enclosure depth from 3.5" and makes it 2.75". Add the back piece of your enclosure (another 0.75") and you get 3.5". Add a buffer in there and you get ~4" enclosure depth if you slammed the back of the driver almost all the way against the back of the enclosure. I said 4.25" just to allow PLENTY of room behind the pole vent (it's a big pole vent too - really cool!).
When we say shallow, we mean SHALLOW.

While chatting to people on the web, they pretty much all think that it is not a good idea to put a sub underneath the seat.
Seems like the natural function of the car does not occur in that situation, meaning there will be almost no lows compared to a sub in a trunk. Can someone clarify this please? Thanks guyz, Kelvin
