Add the back piece of your enclosure (another 0.75") and you get 3.5". Add a buffer in there and you get ~4" enclosure depth if you slammed the back of the driver almost all the way against the back of the enclosure. I said 4.25" just to allow PLENTY of room behind the pole vent (it's a big pole vent too - really cool!).

When we say shallow, we mean SHALLOW.
wow 4.25" i didn't relized when you say shallow you mean shallow! very nice!very nice!!

Seems like the natural function of the car does not occur in that situation, meaning there will be almost no lows compared to a sub in a trunk. Can someone clarify this please?

hey for a tradition sub your idea would be flop (putting it under the seat) but take into consideration this isn't your normal sub!! like comon 4.25 total with box that is nuts man!

as for how it will sound compared to your trunk it will sound better in your truck but only a little worse then your sub under your seat! in my opion which is usualy wrong (lol) unless you are going to a spl show to something you will not notice the differences lol! and since it is for a girl she will be happy with it! lol

remember men buy the d2 mags! lol the bigger bad ass'er (if that is a word) subs, or even those other si subs the ... the 15inch ones the v3

I don't think this is the case at all. I put two 10" MTXs downfiring under my dad's backseat and it had no problems.

A car is completely different than a home. If people are assuming home acoustics for car audio, they will be surprised when their down-firing alignment works out really well in a car.

Just in case one cannot fit under the front seat, how would 2 behave off 150rms each? Would that be not enough? I'm thinking of placing one behind each front seats.

I know testing hasn't been done yet... website says 200rms - 500rms.

150 watts will be enough. Just don't expect them to cure cancer and be incredibly loud off of 150 watts. They're really efficient (for the box size) so they don't need a lot of power to get going.

I currently have 2 10" JL W1 woofers sealed under my backseat in my truck, and believe me you can hear them. It can get loud if wanted, there are plenty of lows. My steering column shakes pretty good around 25Hz. Have no fear of woofers under the seat.

i cannot wait to replace them with 2 BMs though. The BM's spider is wider than my current subwoofers are

Hurry it up already Nick!
