hey everyone i have a quick question i have been reading up on the new mags a bunch and i can't wiat for them to come out. anyways back to my question i have notice on the site that there is no mention of a ported box and the new mags together as one.
i was wondering why is this? does it not sound good in a ported box? i did look at those charts that nick listed but ya i don't understand them (b/c i don't know how to read them i guess or understand what is good and not) and if there is something in there about a ported box for the new mag i guess i missed it.! oppss! anyways my new question is what are the cubic for a ported box and what should i tune it to? like 28hz or 32hz? or would everyone recommend i not go ported? thanks for your help Ken and sorry in advanced if i missed the ported box dimmensions! o i also plan on running 2 of these subs with 2 1000d amps from sundown, with an kinetic hc2400 battery in the truck or under my rear seats if i can fit it! There is no ported box. The new Mag v4's were designed for sealed enclosures only. If you're looking for a ported only subwoofer, look elsewhere. But if you look around on our web site, you'll find out very quickly that if you're looking for more SQ than SPL, you're in the right place. If you're after getting loud and that's it, there are a plethora of other companies to look at because we're not it.
If you're after the ultimate in SQ while being able to get decently loud, look no further. The new Mag's purpose is breaking the mold with small box, great-sounding, loud-enough, subwoofers. And the new Mag v4 meets it perfectly. Case in point - the new Mag v4's were not designed for ported applications at all. We tried the proto in a ported enclosure for shits and giggles, but it didn't work (as expected). Long story short: the new Mag v4 is a sealed only subwoofer.

As per the diagram that I posted, that is the correct cutout diameter.
PS: The image will come printed on the box of every Mag v4. PSPS: No offense taken, just trying to clarify.
