I am trying to keep the electrical load low for this install (smallish alternator) so looking for an amp sufficiently powered to sound good with a pair of BM MKIII's that I can run @4ohm.

Hello thinking of getting Alpine Electronics of Australia for my bm mkIII, it says 300w @ 4 ohm bridged leaving 150w each for my splits.

As the bm is 2 or 8 ohm will the amp be ok? Don't need the sub that loud and from what i've heard more resistance puts less stress on amp but gives less power to sub, is that correct.

Thank you.

You will have to contact Alpine to find out of the amplifier will be stable at half the rated impedance. And yes, at 8 Ohms the amp will be putting out ~150 watts RMS.

For an extra $100,

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...n_US&p_status=

Are Rockford amps ok? As we have a rather small market here in Aus everyone raves about Alpine stuff, but the Rockford amp states it can do 2 ohm bridged @400w.

Thanks again
