Default Mag v3 and Sundown SAZ-1500D

Back when Fi was just starting out, Sundown only made amps, and SSA was just a measage board, the Mag v3 was a really popular sub. I remember one of the more popular combos was a Mag + Sundown SAZ-1500D.

Now after years of powering my Mag with a Massive P1000.1 and later a Sundown SAE-1000D, I'm finally the owner of a Sundown SAZ-1500D.

The thing is, I really want to read up on those old posts with people running this combo, but since SI left SSA, I can't find any. I want to check it out for the main reason being the Mag is rated at 800W RMS, and the SAZ is supposed to push a lot more than 1500W RMS. I'm really stoked about the Sundown, but I don't want it to kill my Mag, which seriously cannot be replaced, IMO.

BTW: now I have a Sundown SAE-1000D laying around........Perfect for a BM or two.

I rated the Mag v3's for 900 watts RMS, which was grossly under-rating them. They can handle 1200 watts without a problem, and that 1500D will be a nice pairing with your v3. If you set the gain where it's not clipping you won't thermal the coil, but you will be able to bottom it out...which is no big deal unless you have a "let's bottom out my Mag for 20 minutes straight" party.

Sorry, I knew you rated the v3 under 1000w but couldn't remember exactly.

Anyway, I'll have time tommorrow to install the saz-1500. I'll let you know how that goes.
