I am another one not planning to buy right away, but hope to at some point in the near future, so I could wait till it is perfected. So by cosmetic perfections, does this mean the candy red is going to be brought back instead of the white?? Just kidding of course, I did like the red though.

I do think this is sub might be even more anticipated than the mag though due to its installation friendly design. This should be THE sub for just about every pickup truck configuration out there. So maybe like others said an "enthusiast" batch to tide those guys over till the cosmetic finishes are completed.

Hey Nick-
You won't be able to make everyone happy. I have seen many folks excited for the release and faithfully waiting for so long for it to be completed; but how many of them would be "tire kickers" vs. acutally buying earlier than the "perfected" ones are available? The design of this sub is more for the space constrained and will probably be used more in stealth installs where it wont be seen, but there are those folks out there that are perfectionists like yourself; both in quality and appearance. I would certainly rather get one sooner than later and my experience tells me that 3 months will turn into 6; meaning folks would have been waiting for ~2 years for this product to release. I would be curious as to what your minimum order qty is and how that would satisfy the "need of the enthusiast" while the other looking to do the crazy 8 driver inverted installs can wait....
No doubt about it... I want one no matter what it looks like. The basket will be in the box and the driver will be covered by a grill; so what the hell do I care appearance wise?

As I mentioned on the phone a few weeks ago, Nick, I'd like to play with one of these in a custom enclosure in my S (hoping to save trunk space). While I could wait since I have a Mag in the S right now, I wouldn't mind getting one of these "blemished" BM's sooner rather than later to use as a sample while waiting for the "perfected" ones to hit the market.

I am also one of the people that have been waiting and would rather have a
'blemished' version now. Most of the people ARE planning on a stealth install especially for those of us with limited space. I would say make a small production run and just have people put down a deposit maybe?

I know i'd buy up 2-3 right away, and since my setup is for a pickup truck and under the seat, i really dont mind the color of the basket or the ring on the diaphram.

There could be a presale pricing done on the as-is version batch. That will get the drivers out there and have reviews come out as well. And when a final release is ready to ship, regular pricing could be implemented.

I want to wait until the little cosmetics are taken care of, but on the flip side of the coin the driver is perfect from an operational standpoint. The more time goes by on getting these cosmetics finished the more I want to give the go-ahead for production on the driver as it sits.

Keep us posted Nick, I would be interested in a first run trial market version; so put me on "the list".

Yep, those are good points. I was planning to do offer a slight price break for the first 30 days anyway. But I could offer another discount for the first production run.

The pricing on these BM's is going to be close to/above the Mag's price. At that price point or higher there isn't another driver out there that is as linear except the RE SL, and it is still more expensive.

Ryan, do you have the mkII yet from Jason?

White is fine. Doesn't matter to me cause won't be seeing it once its in the box anyway. But the ring definitely needs fixing. Anyway, go ahead, make it perfect.

Since there's a seizure in Mag 4 productions, am I to assume the BM will be a limited edition thing too (as in only 1 batch)?
The BM's are no going to be a limited edition. We're not making any v4 Mag's so we can focus on the v5's. And we didn't say anything about a $150 price tag. Years ago we mentioned that we were going to try and keep it below $200, but that was, well, years ago. The new thin BM is a much more advanced unit than it was during its mkI years.
