Default New Mag coming in, current mag going to HT!

in anticipation of the new mags. I am planning on taking my 15 Mag out of my car and make a nice home for it in my HT setup.

Question though: For the current gen mag, what size ported enclosure should I go with (I currently do sealed)? or should I keep it sealed for HT? and what size amp should I get?

I was thinking a 1000watt plate amp.

I think Nick recommends using them with the same size ported enclosures as car audio applications.

I'm doing something a bit different with some big ass enclosures and a low tuning, but not sure how much room you have to work with. I'll have a build thread up soon on here.

awesome! looking forward to it. as for how much room I have, there is a good amount just depend on how "big ass" big ass is.

4 cubes tuned to 29 Hz will perform well for a HT setup. If you can go to 5 cubes you can tune to 25 Hz for more extreme bottom-end, but tuning close to 30 will provide the most punch in the sub-5 cubic feet enclosures.

Oh, if you can, steer clear of plate amps. We've gone through our share (most of what PE offers and also other companies) and every one that we've tested has sounded like crap. I'm sure there are good plate amps out there...just nothing we've tested has sounded good.

thanks!

Yeah, I'm curious too.

Also, Nick, what enclosure would you recommend for a 12" Mag (the most current Mag so far) for HT? Or would you even recommend a HT setup with a 12" Mag?

Also interested in what amp to get...
I am looking at doing either 1 Mag or 2 BMs sealed for HT.
