Well After so much waiting due to school, I finally got these 2 killer subs installed!
My setup: Speaker- 2- 6x9 Pioneer 5ways Pioneer USA - Pioneer Speaker- 2- Zapco RB-13.2 Reference series>RB-13.2 Speakers- 2- Zapco RH-16.2 (these will be replacing my 6x9's) Reference series>RH-16.2 Head Unit- 1- Pioneer Premier DEH-P800PRS Pioneer USA - Premier CD Receivers Subs- 2- Si V4 Mags Stereo Integrity Amp- 1- SAX 100.4 Sundown Audio - SAX 100.4 Amps - 2- SAE1000d (strapped) Sundown Audio - SAE-1000D CLASS D MONO BLOCK Second Battery- Kinetik Hc2400 Kinetik - High Current Car Audio Power Cells Wiring- 0/1 KNU Kolossus Fleks Kable (only 1 run) KnuKonceptz - view products for category KOLOSSUS FLEKS KABLE Fused Distro block- KonFUSED 3 Way Distribution System Knukonceptz product detail for KONFUSED 3 WAY DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM Extra- Big 3 Extra- Stinger Voltage Gauge Blue Display Stinger Electronics - Product Details Sub Box's - 1cubic sealed (no poly fill )My thoughts WOW!! Like WOW lol! crazy good! For the previos weekend i have been pounding them with some nice techno, rock, and even some ghetto rap crap llol! Plus i also used the recommended stuff which I wasn't crazy about but meh! it is music! I have never heard a sub which sounds like this! The bass is just so clean and the subs just take all those 2 SAE 1000d amps can put out! heck i almsot think they can take more but you know what? It doesn't need more power b/c they sound amazing!! My buddy has a SI mag 15inch (the older subs the v3?) and even he was impressed! Keep in mind the 15inch subs is a monster but the V4 held there own and being SQ (sealed) subs. I was very surpized! keep in mind the 15inch was much louder but it is made for killer ear drums! lol!! I am impressed with my setup b/c while at idle my setup holds a 14.4 volts, and while running it holds 14.6-14.9volts! A big thankyou to Nick for making some nice subs! props man!! And another thankyou to Jacob for making some impressive amps! Looks like a great setup.
As for cleaning it up, I would highly recommend a battery box. You should be able to pick one up at any auto-parts shop. If not there, Summit Racing or Jegs would have one.

Awesome!!!! Haha, you've been waiting to put those in for how long now? A very very long time from what I remember.
If you think they sound good now, wait until you line the interior walls of those enclosures with fiberglass insulation. The insulation does more for smoothing out the response than polyfill does. Trust me, do it! It's worth it...big time! I'm glad you like the subs. Those tiny 1000D's are brutes aren't they?! I still can't get over how powerful the little suckers are. Thanks for posting up pics and be sure to keep this thread updated or even make another thread with a more in-depth review of the Mag's the more you get to listen to them. Heck, they probably aren't even broken in yet.

o i know those little 1000d surprized me! lol! and yes i know these subs are no where near broken in yet lol! the best part about them is they are small little devils lol!! plus they don't SUCK the power as much as any other amp i have used (if that makes sense)
you say to put fiberglass insulation in the boxes? you mean line the whole interior of the box with fiberglass? lol this would be my first attemp with fiberglass lol! now i am pumped lol! but yes i was VERY VERY impressed with the 2 mags and one think i did note is the 15in mag and the new v4 are the same style lol!! which is cool! lol! but ya as i get more play time on this sub and learn a few technicall terms i will post it up plus i want to get these bad boys meter one day! lol! just for kicks! then compare them to my buddies 15inch mag lol!! |
