Racists? White? Black?

While walking into an office building that is very 'diverse' I noticed that a guy had a laptop case that read "Black Entrepreneur's" and then it had something under it about supporting black americans in today's society.

What if all races did that? If white people did that they'd be racist. But if black people do it they're supporting their heritage.

What are your thoughts?

Of course, now that we have a black President, I assume we can eliminate all affirmative action laws, and eliminate the race question from all Government forms?

Affirmative Action is reverse racism.

B/c I'm a white male from an upper lower class family, my college prospects were more limited than another male of a minority race.

There are so many scholarships for minorities, but if there were a scholarship that was limited to Caucasians, it would be racist.

Any distinction between people based solely on race is racism - no matter who it's discriminating against.

I agree with nick about it being inapropriate for doing it, and it is completely inapropriate. I know that they are trying to "perservere" and "promote the race in a positive way", but they bring this on themselves... It is the year 2009, im not saying to forget the historic events and move on, but come on, its been how many years? Its time to let go and think that the rest of the world is holding anyone down or trying to keep them behind.

I dont know about the rest of the US, but here in charlotte, the day after Obama was elected, you would have thought that was the first time we let black people vote... They were all out celebrating and holding signs/wearing shirts, etc... It was like they had never had a say in it before. So call me racist, and in return I will say that they have brought it on themselves. Act civilized, work as one, and dont expect/hope for/or act like you deserve any special favors. We are one people, and this whole affirmitive action/reperations BS is just those types of people pushing us back apart...

Like I said, call me racist, I'll probably just make you aware that you are ignorant of your own actions.

but also think about it the blacks(not intending to offend anyone) have school just for blacks and also i believe they can get in to college over smart kids if there gpa is low. and why? b/c they are black i guess.

but then look at this way if white kids had an all white school (all right school lol jk) what would we teach there...racism lol! no of course not we would teach math and english and other fun BS classes like that lol! it isn't like we are going to teach racism and how to hang ppl lol.!

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

I wholeheartedly agree with Hoss and everything that Ken posted. Same with Richard too. Hoss has a good point with them (minorities, blacks more than others from what I've seen) holding onto the past. LET IT GO! Holding onto it only makes things worse. If you're constantly looking backwards, you aren't looking forward.

Here in Charlotte if I wore a shirt that read "White Entrepreneurs, supporting white people in entrepreneurship" I would probably get shot. But guys wear stuff like the shirt I mentioned in my first post into their jobs every day.

OOHH! We could come out with a shirt that read "White Heritage" and then in a smaller font under that it would read "how different is that than 'Black Heritage' shirts?"
