I agree with this all.

Black people often hold themselves down. You aren't "cool" unless you speak in bad english and make unwise education and money decisions. Then if you try to get ahead in life and move out of the projects and into the suburbs, or "white neighborhoods," you're a sellout.

I know it sounds funny, but there was actually a pretty powerful Fresh Prince of Bel-Air about this. Will and Carlton were trying to get into a black fraternity but the top dog frat guy discriminated against Carlton and wouldn't accept him in because he was too rich- and white-acting. Uncle Phil got so pissed off because he had worked so hard to give his kids a better life than the inner city and now he was being discriminated against by other blacks for it.

The grandparents of these black kids fought, were beaten, jailed, and sometimes killed to get equal rights, and now they're spitting on that and trying to keep themselves segregated with this kind of stuff. I can understand why things like the united negro college fund or specialized business loan or whatever got started for blacks (not for immigrants, those are dumb). 50 years ago the race was undereducated and did need a leg-up for the most part to jump-start them having equal opportunities and things. Back then it was the few educated and well-off trying to encourage similar behavior in the vast majority of the rest. However, I think that nowadays these things have become obsolete and taken advantage of in the wrong ways. A black kid 50 years ago had to deal with racism that most likely affected their grades. I'm sure it would have affected mine. But now the kids have bad grades because of stupid ideological paths that their parents and peers have steered them towards. That's not an acceptable excuse. There is absolutely no reason to reward a black teenager with a scholarship who had a 2.0 GPA in high school over a white one that had a 3.0. I'm sure inner cities can be a tough place to grow up in, but that doesn't mean that you have to get bad grades. Grades in high school are very indicative of effort.

Here in Aus we have australia day every year, this is the date we colonised the country, this year there was a big thing about changing the date because the indiginouse population see it as the day we invaded there country.

This would be fine if it didn't happen 200 years ago!!! All the people who were around back then are dead and fully decomposed. Are your indiginouse people still upset about you guys colonising there land?

It seams that they go a bit to much over the top, if they stoped winging and wanting stuff and just took decided to be equal? I have black friends and i treat them no different to white firends i dont even care that there black i dont even see them as being black there just friends.

Until they get over the past and just be a human being instead of a black/white person they will never be equal.

I know life sucked for them back then, but what about the jews? They were almost wiped out yet they still live in germany and have no hard fealings. They dont have the day the nazis tryed to kill us day, and poor jews we nearly got wiped out day, and marches to make the germans say sorry, or give us money cause you tried to kill us! (I know not all germans tried to kill them)

Noone alive today enslaved black people (in my counrty) why are we made to pay for our long dead ansesters mistakes? Why do the parent teach there children to keep this crap up why not let it go? Now they might say if we let it go it will happen again, if there just another person then no it wont we all know skin colour means nothing its atitude that keeps them seperate.

I would love to see the day were there is no balck and white, no black scolorship no white just one for everyone. no black this white this.

It's all human nature. Why do some elderly people still use the word "nigger?" It's all they know. . . Why is there so much religious tension and war in the middle East? It's all they know. . .

Change is slow, and unfortunately, society focuses much more on the weak points than the strong and it just compounds from there. The only way the human race could ever survive without color, religion, gender, etc, would be to band together against a greater threat, in which case we would be forced to put aside our differences. Until then, it is what it is.
