Subwoofery - I had Yokohama Avid H4S's on the previous 2 cars before my last car and they were pretty decent. They slid all over the place because of the tread ware rating of 500, but they were a decent road tire. I really like being able to brake hard if needed so I would have opted to go for a more aggressive tread ware rating on any future Yoko's. Other than them being too hard of a compound, the tires were great.

Other than that it's warm and sunny and the Falken Azenis tires I had on my last car were pure sex. So I'll try them out on the new Lexus and see how they fare.

However, I do agree - you must choose the right tire for the right application. I would NOT have chosen the Falken's if I lived anywhere further north.
You could always use those for summer and a set of Bridgestone Winterforce tires in the winter, I see them on every other car when I am at school. For those that don't know, where I go to school averages like 250" of snow a year.

I don't like yokos at all I had a set just fall apart on me after a short while even though they had a high tread rating. That's pretty much what I do on my S. Have a 2nd set of wheels even, lol. Expensive to start out, but I'll get 2x as many years out of each set of tires so it evens out in the end.

That's what I was thinking.

*edit* Dunlop is British aren't they? Maybe Hoosier would be close to American. Goodyear's aren't even made here are they?

They all have tire factories in the US, with Goodyear and Pirelli having the most, although this is old information.

Hoosier tire is 13 miles from me, and you'd never know it was a tire factory. It looks more like a big barn in a field.

My favorite tire... General Tire Exclaim UHP.

When I had my BMW 325i these out-performed the stock Continentals and Kumho Ecstas I had on there in all regards - wet handling, noise, dry handing, etc... they were also cheaper and tread life was excellent in the UHP category.

Any car that I own that I can get these for I buy them

on my old taurus i bought the cheapest tires possible, and they worked fine . but it was a tuaurs.. IIRC half of those tires are still in your old garage nick

on my truck, i bought the cheapest tires possible, and they worked excellently . They got decent life out of the tires, and gripped well enough for a work truck.

on my Z, i never bought tires, and apparently the tires that came with it were NOT good in wet conditions...

on my new taurus, im planning on not buying tires because its a heaping pile of shit... but if i did have to buy tires, they would be super cheapos, used if possible...

now if i ever get to have a car that i even give a shit about, ill buy something worth while. in the meantime, anything round will work for me
