Default ?????Studio monitors?????

Looking to set up a studio. Wanna start with the speakers. does anyone know of some good brands that may have the flattest response?

These monitors, EVENT Electronics, are the best in the world. You not only want the flattest response, but you also want low and linear inductance, great transient response, and zero coloration (flat response doesn't necessarily mean zero coloration - harmonics, both upper and lower, play a significant role). The Event Opal is THE best studio monitor out there, period.

Interesting... I only heard some PMC monitors and it was really impressive - dynamics and precise imaging all the way.

Need to read a bit about those EVENT ones...

It's actually a really affordable price when you consider that they're powered monitors (ie, no external amp needed). And the fact that they're the best studio monitors on the planet has a little bit to do with it as well.

Haha, that's like complaining that a new Aston Martin costs more than a new Camaro. Yeah they're both cars, but one is MUCH better than the other.

The Mackie's are pretty good too, see if you can go to a Sam Ash store where you can listen to a comparison of them.
