I have a 12 inch Mag (the last commercially available Mag) and wanted to know what the enclosure recommendations are for in home use, both sealed and ported if applicable.
Will be using it for HT and music. Thanks. |

Can you post the reply on this thread? Or if you would rather me pm you too, that's cool.
I was planning on getting myself a new Mustang GT, and having the old mag in the old Mustang, and new Mag in the new Mustang. But with the gas prices the way they are, I don't think I can afford a car with a V8, so I'll stick with my old V6 Mustang for now. But doing that, it means replacing the old Mag if I want the new Mag. I could either leave the old Mag and not buy a new Mag, or put the old Mag in the home system so I have room for the new Mag. So, yeah, I was waiting on what you had to say about an old 12" Mag in a home system. |

Hello, I currently own a 15" Mag and would like to incorporate it into my HT system. My system consists of Axiom Audio 5.1 with a 12" 500w slot ported subwoofer.Subwoofers : EP500 Main - Axiom Audio My receiver is a Denon 3808.
After reading as much info as I could injest in this forum relating to the subject at hand I will pass on the Dayton plate amps. Instead I was thinking of using the Elemental Design LT/1300 plate amp Elemental Designs and housing the sub in a Dayton pre-fab box.Parts-Express.com ayton SWC-3CO 3.0 ft³ Subwoofer Cabinet with Cutouts | subwoofer cabinet speaker cabinet empty speaker cabinet unloaded speaker unloaded cabinet 3 cubic foot enclosure.Am I on the right track for properly setting up the Mag and will I be able to blend it with my current sub? HT is a new hobby for me and if I going to invest the money to integrate the Mag I want to make sure it will work. I value all the knowledge here and any help to get me going with this. The Mag is too good of a sub to be sitting around unused. Thanks for any help. |

If you have a 15" Mag and are going to use it in your HT setup, is there any particular reason why you want to keep your other current 12" subwoofer playing at the same time?
Go with a 3.5 ft^3 ported enclosure tuned to 30 Hz for the Mag 15 and you'll be good to go!
