Exclamation 3SIXTY.2 change of heart...

Okay I am currently using a Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY.2 in my current car hifi installation. It worked without problems, till last week.

Suddenly the red light kept blinking, meaning it was having problems. After doing some research, I figured out it's most probably the bluetooth chip in the 3SIXTY.2 which went haywire. It seems a common problem amongst the 3SIXTY.2 soundprocessors.

Anyways, now I am looking for a new, different brand product.

I am currently looking into the AudioControl DQL-8 device as a replacement. I don't know if it's a good substitute, so I will need some advice.

Some things to consider; I will be using my Lexus stock headunit and therefor I will need to keep onto my Lexus stock amplifier as well (otherwise most controls on my headunit won't work, or won't work properly anymore). Also I will be using 3 amplifiers (2x SAZ-1500D strapped and 1x SAX-100.4 bridged) to power 3 subwoofers and a component set.

Will the AudioControl DQL-8 be a good (or better) replacement for the 3SIXTY.2? If yes, please explain. If no, please explain as well.

I really need some advice in this. Going back to a new RF 3SIXTY.2 will be my last option. Also cause I don't want to use a laptop or Palm to configure my audio everytime.

Jake, Sundownz, has a lot of experience with the treesixty's. Where's he at?

I think you scared him of... :S

Man, I just contacted Rockford Fosgate (Europe) and they are willing to repair the Bluetooth chip on the 3SIXTY.2, but guess how much it's going to cost me...?

They want 200 Euro's for the repairs!? That's crazy... Sheesh...

I am now really looking for a different soundprocessor, e.g. the DQL-8 from AudioControl. But I don't know if it's enough for my setup.

Jake and a friend of ours both had problems with their 360.2's. I think both of them were ground related. Their experiences kinda scared me away from using one of them in my car. Doesn't matter much now for me though - the plans change so much that I've given up until the Mag's arrive.

Indeed, I've seen ground related issues with several of them -- but have not yet experienced a "red light" issue.

PS: I said "almost" scared me away from using one. They're pretty much the coolest aftermarket EQ I've seen.

The red light that keeps blinking, means something is wrong with the Bluetooth device onboard.

Anyways, I was wondering, does anyone here have experience with the DQL-8 from AudioControl? Or in general with their products?

Cause I really am going to need a new device.

Anyways here is some information about the DQL-8: DQL-8

And here is the online manual: Manual

IIRC, CA&E tested one a while back and loved it, but you know how they are with their reviews on the "good" retail manufacturers.

Anyone else in here with some good recommendations?

I looked in several other possibilities, but all still not available or still work in progress... E.g. JBL MS-8, Audison 1-Bit, etc...

The only options I see so far, for myself, is getting a new 3SIXTY.2 (rather not), or a AudioControl DQL-8.

So if anyone has another option, please let me know.

Regards.
