Default Polyfill question

I tried staying away and told myself I'm happy with what I have, but that never last.

Anyway, I have the Mag V3 in a ported box that's 2.0 ft^3 @ 33Hz (peak in car @ 43Hz) powered by a Sundown SAE 1000. I was planning on building a few more boxes, but I'll try something easy first. What happens if I stuck a pound of polyfill in the box I have? I know the polifill makes the box seem bigger, and lowers the freq as a result. But would that be a good idea, or should I just go and build more boxes? (ported 2.5 ft^3 tuned to about 40 and a sealed 1.3 ft^3 box. I may even try a ported 2.5 ft^3 box @ 25Hz)

Polyfill is going to dampen the inside of the enclosure also. However, putting polyfill in a ported box will result in you having polyfill all over the inside of your trunk.

If you go with a larger enclosure, why raise the tuning? If you're just after a higher score, that might help you out. However, increasing the enclosure volume will decrease the power handling of the system. Tuning extremely low (25 Hz) is kind of pointless in a vehicle because you've got cabin gain helping you out so much.

Why do you want to build different enclosures? Better scores?

I'm actually really happy with what I got, but I won't lie, the only reason I'm thinking about a bigger box with a higher tuning is for a higher score. Last time I metered I got a 136pointsomething, and I want to get the Mag to at least 140. Once I do that, I'll probably put the mag into the same box it's in now or build a sealed box and see how that sounds.

As far as building a box tuned lower, everyone seems to love a low tuned box, I want to see if I'm one of them.

I'm just want to try different enclosures to see what I like. I've had the same system for a while and I want to change things up a little without getting a brand new sub or amp. The Mag v3 and SAE 1000 are both discontinued items, but I will not get rid of them. They're mines forever.

If I remember correctly, old Mag v3 owners used to pair it with the Sundown SAZ1500, and they say the Mag took it like a champion. But since you build the sub, your opinion means more here. What kind of power would you say the Mag v3 can handle in a 2.5 ft^3 ported box?

I have a question for this quote too, I just can't word my thoughts. So never mind.

They can handle a 1500D for most of the music out there. As long as you run a sub sonic filter below tuning a Mag v3 can handle a 1500D. We've put over 2000 watts on them before, but that was for short burps.
