Hate to do this but how else well i get some good opinions. Both will be in my 97 Grand Cherokee and downfiring so i can hide and protect the sub. Both will get about 750w maybe 1000w for the Mag. And the RL-i would be ported.
This is the final cut so pros and cons (if there are any for the Mag ) would be welcome

I think you're on the wrong forum for this type of question. People on here are fans of the Mag. You may have better luck on other forums with more unbiased opinions.

The Mag will be a more actual representation of how the music was recorded. It will be more distortion-free, which you may not like. If you want more oomph with some decent sound quality, do not buy a Mag v4. The Mag's are almost too clean; they don't distort as other subwoofers do, which some people don't like.
It really depends on what you want.

I'll agree with Nick on this one.
Having a Mag definitely changes the way you listen to music. It takes a while to get used to not having the distortion. While I am a big fan of the Mag's lack of distortion, there are times when I'm so used to hearing the distortion, that I miss it. So, it entirely depends on what kind of music you listen to, and what you want your subwoofer to do for you. If you want your subwoofer to accurately and faithfully replay the music as it was recorded, by all means, go with the Mag v4. If you want your subwoofer to go "boom" when the deep bass notes hit, the Mag is not the sub for you.

I just posted this over on ca.com:
The rl-i is only rated for around 500 watts RMS, so putting 600-1000 on it might cause some issues with its 2" coil. If you have right at 1000 watts, you can't (shouldn't) send that to the rl-i but you can send it to the Mag. Being able to send a driver double the power compared to another is a 3 dB gain. The inductance on the rl-i is 5 times higher than the Mag and its rated Xmax is about the same as a Mag, although it's not as linear as an XBL^2 driver. Mounting depth is the same on the SS 10" as the Mag 12" though.
