Lexus started to ignore me completely. Hehe.

Yeah I already looked into the option of using a Toyota alternator. But no succes. Which is weird, cause my alternator has a Denso part number and (trumpet-sound) a Toyota part number. But nobody can find the part number or cross-reference it.

<sarcasm>I just hope my car's alternator never breaks, cause then I will be screwed, since nobody knows where to get this part!</sarcasm>

LOL!! Yeah, lets hope your alt never poops out.

Odd though, if your alt has a Toyota p/n it shouldn't be hard for Toyota to look it up.

In Lexus terms: dead alternator = new car.
Reminds me of Lexus quote: "The Pursuit Of Perfection"

Anyways, the story is kinda the same on when I contact companies about the Toyota alternator part number. In the USA they say it was never introduced and in Holland they ask me if I am sure about the part number.

I just received an email from my Lexus After Sales Manager.

1600 Euro!!!!
That's approx. 2000 USD!

Well for that kind of money I can get 4 new batteries.

Yeah tell me about it. I was expecting 800 Euro's at most.
This is double!

Considering Lexus is an overrated Toyota anyways. When you strip down a Lexus, it says Toyota everywhere. :S

Anyways no new alternator, however I did buy a new Kinetik Audio HC2000 battery to replace my stock battery in the front. Now I will have 2x HC1800 and 1x HC2000 battery. That should be enough and it will cost me less money, frustration and time!

I won't be playing always at maximum volume, so...
