Default What does this mean???

in relation to hooking up 2 of the new si mags?

Im still trying to work out my wiring.

While im at it. since the sundown audio 1000d only has 4 gauge power input. If I purchase 2 of them, should I run 1/0 to my back seat (f150 supercab) then 1/0 in a distribution block that has 2-4 gauge outs?

or 2-4 gauges straight from my battery to each amp?

Reason I ask is I might have to run 2 1000d's strapped along with a amp for my door speakers.

Run 1/0 to the distro and then a single 4 gauge to all 3 amps.

hey man i think we are in a similar boat but your boat has a bigger engine~! lol!

anyways i plan on running 2, 1000d and potentialy 1 100.4 amp! i drive a 95 grand am. to help out my car with the new audio i am going to do a big 3 mod, and then i am going to put a kinetik hc 2400 secondard battery. and if need's be i will be putting in a bigger alternator! i hope i don't have to.

anyways look into a second battery! i know my car will need one to keep the volts up i am nto sure how trucks are on volts! but i bet the bigger engine helps! lol. i know a second battery wouldn't hurt! lol

actualy come to think oof it i better get a yellowtop battery to replace my current one also... i wouldn't hurt and they are cheap lol!

o well jsut one more idea to toss in there!

sorry I kinda left out the main point in my question haha

On sundowns website for the 1000d amp, it says strapped they can put 1800 rms at 2 ohms. If I read it right the website said that we must make each amp run at 1 ohm.

The amps internal wiring is in parallel, how do we acheive 1 ohm for each amp.

Here is what I am talking about.

2) I want to strap my amp at the lowest possible load, what is it? - 3/13/07

Quite frankly I recommend to run the amps at 1 ohm each and 2 ohms strapped. One hundred percent of any problems people see with protection and overheating result from loads under 1 ohm per amplifier... I have yet to hear a single compaint at 1 ohm operation. The lowest officially supported strapped load is 2 ohms. Running at a load of under 1 ohm un-strapped or 2 ohms strapped (1 ohm per amp) will void your warranty coverage

In regards to this statement, how do i wire my subs so that each amp sees 1 ohm? Im just a bit confused on this.

When you strap the amps, they can handle a two ohm load together, meaning each amp will handle 1 ohm.

You simply wire each driver in series which will be a wire from the positive on one coil to the negative on the other coil. Then take the positive from the coil with no wire on it and the negative as well. You now have a 4 ohm load. Do the same to the other driver. Now, take the two negatives and wire them together and the two positives also. You now have two drivers wired in parallel for a 2 ohm load.

As far as how they wire up to the amp, I am not sure of. I'm sure the manual will tell you.

***Edit*** Upon further research, Jake has photos listed on the site under the FAQ section.

Ya I went to the FAQ before posting my question. But that is what confused me some how.

Am I thinking too hard into this, when you strap the amps, all you need is to wire subs in 2 ohm total and be done with it, like TireFryr said earlier?

In the above link, since the amps are internal parallel wiring, I would then wire the amps in series like TireFryr said earlier,

Im just trying to clear it up with pictures. . .
