Default Wires Galore??????

Can anybody point me in the right direction on where I can learn about what wires I will need for my truck. I want to have everything ready by the time the new Mags are released. currently looking at caraudiohelp.com

Also what brands make great wires.

I read about fuse blocks, and distribution blocks and blah blah blah and its all nice and confusing for me.

More info: I dont have a yellowtop battery, however depending on what sundown arranges with si I might be running 2 strapped 1000d's and I would assume thats quite a load off a stock battery.

Im thinking my set up is a headunit, component speakers up front, 5 x 7 in the back, door speaker amplifier, and the sub amplifier/s, i also have a 1 farad capicator.

I might be adding a truckputer here in a few months also...

Well, it's rather simple.

If you're not worried about flash and want to keep the cost down, get some welding cable for your power. With your proposed setup, nothing less than 1/0 will do. Get an ANL fuse holder mounted no more than 18" from the battery for the main power wire. Run the main power feed to a distribution or fused distribution block and then out to each individual amp with 4 guage. Also use this for your grounds, or run them all into one distribution block and terminate that with another 1/0 cable.

RCAs, well, there's so many on the market, you can pick whatever you want here. Just don't get the cheapest things you can find. Quality counts here.

As for speaker cable, just pick up any type in 16-14 guage and you'll be set.

Don't worry about the capacitor, it won't do you a bit of good.

If you need more help we are always here.

Ok so tell me about flash haha. I dont know what it is, and I tried to look it up and I only got information about cameras and adobes flash player. I hope neither of those have anything to do with Welding cable.

Also are their pros and cons to running welding cable as oppose to say KnuKonceptz kolassaus or Kicker hyperflex, other than price!

sorry yall have to keep spoon feeding me everything, but I assure you I am learning and I will pass this on to someone down the road who needs the same information I need now.

Like Tirefryr said, forget the cap. It will do you no good. Invest the same amount of money on an extra battery or an upgrade for your alt (from regular to high output).

But unlike what Tirefryr said, I say go with the Knu's 1/0 wire. The hyperflex is awesome wire. You'll thank yourself over and over again if you buy that wire. It's 1/0 wire that moves like 8 gauge. It's really weired, but really cool at the same time.

PS: What Tirefryr was saying about "flash" was about a good looking install. You're going to have to read through some BS on this forum. Sarcasm runs rampant!

I drew a picture up yesterday of my possible wiring and I was gonna see if yall agreed with it, im at work so it wont let me access photobucket.com so I cant drop my picture in there and show yall so lemme see if I can find another way.

Oh man I think I just got it working. If this shows up, yall give me some feed back on that. Especially if my fuses are in the right spot or not.

You've got it down, but the main power wire coming off the battery and going to your distribution block for your amps needs to be 1/0 as well. Then from the block you can run 4gauge to each amp.
