okay guys here is the deal! i am have gotten 2 new amp from sundown! killer amps the 1000d's!
anyways i want to hide them under my rear seats in my car! but i image i will run into some problem aka heat and maybe condensation and to much heat and water doesnt' mix well with amps. so i was thinking of hiding them under my seats and then put a 120mm fan or 2 in to cool them off? i think i will have to go bigger basicllay my question is has anyone done something like this before? b/c i don't really know what to do. i just have an idea and no clue if it will work! i want to hid my amps under nearth my rear seat to save some space in my truck and also if someone wants to rob me some how it will be harder and more work to get to the amps/ extra batter also (hc2400 kinetik). so please someone get back to em on this!! thanks for your time Ken |

when doin fans you need a push-pull method. so 2 fans blowing in and 1 fan blowing out or vice versa. it will assure that air wont stay and that spot long and constantly new cooler air is running across the amp.
just get some 12v computer fans and use some relays and you are good to go |

80mm or 120mm is fine. anything smaller it will be noisy, anything bigger will be hard to mount stealth, I suggest get the ones that have a filter you can put on it. you dont need anything too fancy to be honest. the filter idea was just so no dust gets on amp and to keep anything from entering it big.

Car Audio, Faceplates, Wire Harnesses, Antenna Adapters, PAC Accessories and Technical Help - Tune-Town Car Audio
The fan on top will blow alot of air directly across the amp heat-sinks. If you could seal off around the amps with an amp rack and have this fan in one side of the rack and a slot opening in the other side that would force all the air over the amps an be even more effective. Or, a push-pull method with normal fans as suggested by Megalomaniac would work very well. |
