Ok here is my issue. My front components are polk momo mmc6500. They are 125 watt rms. My rears are polk momo mmc460 and they are 50 watt rms. I dont want to end up buying two different amps, so should I just power all of them with a 50w x 4 or power the front components off of a 125w x 2 and run the rears off my hu?

How about buying an amp that will do ~100 watts x 4 and backing off the gain on the rear channels? Solves both problems.

I was told you could not do that, granted I was told hat on ca.com. Ok thanks, how much can you adjust the wattage on each channel? From 0 - 100?

i ran my polk sr6500's off my Carver m-4120 rated at 120 watts x 4. i just trimmed the output voltage on my crossover and set my gains to minimum. with my audiocontrol dqxs i still had enough voltage to drive the rear channels to 120 watts and the front channels to 30 watts. 4 volts to the rear channels and 1 volt to the front channels at max volume.

You simply simply turn your gain know until you hear them stressing a little bit, or fatiguing your ears, then you back it off a little. Chances are they will tell you when they've had too much.

or use a multi meter, and use this forum may!

rms*ohm=x
square root x

side note for the ohm make that what the amp will see(the final ohm load)! for example if you run 2 si v4 mags and you wire them down to 2ohm, your formula will go

2000(rms)x2= 4000, root 4000 = 63.2

i belive the settling of the multi meter is the plus 12v setting.

mind you though you don't need to put 1k rms into each sub they will work nicely with 750 i belive the magic number is and or 500rms!

o well hope that helps and if you need more info let me know!'
