Default Totalled car, need to start over

I'm on a budget since I just bought a new car.

All I could save from the crash was my mono amp, a two channel amp, and my optima battery.

I need some advice on what to do here.

The components need to be replaced, and match my SAX 100.2 as best I can for a decent price. Lanzar Opti6c's were my choice. I can find them for $115 before shipping.

I won't be getting a sub until the Mag's are done, so that's not a concern right now. But, I need to get a new head unit. This is my main concern, I want some functionality but I don't want to pay a premium for it. The only thing I really desire in the head unit is an aux-in or an iPod control. Even a USB-in, because I could do iPod control through that. A detailed EQ would be nice but I'm fine with using the iPod's EQ presets.

Budget is limited to at most $250 for a head unit, but I'd rather save some of that to put into sound deadening.

I feel there's enough to gain from deadening that I should not install my components until I'm ready to deaden the doors. Oh, I just remembered: there's a product out there called Speaker Tweaker or something like that. I wondered about how useful/worthwhile it is. If anyone's used it, does the window (while all the way lowered) being between it and the speaker have any adverse effect?

Any help would be appreciated.

It took me 30 minutes to find it, but here is the link to the thread on DIYMA a little while ago that addresses your question perfectly:

Speaker Tweakers are definitely worth the money. I put them in the Civic behind my Koda's and they made a noticeable improvement.

I run the Phoenix Gold Rsd's 6.5 componet set and couldn't be happier. I paid 75 smacks shipped Brand new from a member off another forum, but if you go to Audiosavings.com or through ebay, they sell for 87 dollars shipped I believe. Just make sure you ask if they have any in stock, so you don't get put on back order and wonder where your stuff is at.

Deck, you have a shit ton of choices for 250.
