Nick has used the SAX-100.4 (rear channels bridged) and the SAE-1000D @ 1 ohms on his Mag proto for testing

I believe he will recommend the SAE-1000D to you for the driver.

These are both made by my company, Sundown Audio.

SAE 1000D is a beast. Another option: Ebay has a few DLS monoblocks on sale now, and you can choose between Reference or Ultimate lines. Depending on your budget, and Sundown should be more efficient though.

When the Mag's come in we're going to have a link to Sundown for recommended power. The new Mag's are extremely efficient, but if you wanted to have more power than you'll ever need for a single Mag, an SAE-1000D is a great match. It's actually the amplifier that we'll end up recommending for a single Mag and a pair of BM's and/or a single BM. It's got a lot of power and it has a tiny footprint.

I just recently heard a pair of JL 12w6v1's on a 1000D @ 1.5 ohms. They sounded awesome for the box they were in. I can't imagine how great a Mag would sound. 1000D's are amazing amps for the money.

I am sure my autotek 750.1 will do just fine at 1 ohm right? I keep reading they get loud and sound good just off 400rms.

Oh yeah. Nothing to worry about there. I'd be VERY happy with 750 watts and a new Mag. I wanted more than the 300 watt first audition offered, and the 1000D was more than enough to reach the limits of the driver.

Glad to see the SAE-1000D will get some attention now. It seems as though there's more SAZ-1500Ds out there getting all the attention.

Anyway, I have an SAE-1000D running a current Mag, and it's awesome (again, seems as though everyone's running the SAZ-1500D for the old Mags).

The only other amp I used with the Mag was a Massive P1000.1. That didn't give me any problems either, and I would also recommend the Massive amp as much as the Sundown amp. The thing is, Sundown kills the Massive when it comes to customer service, for the simple fact that the owner of Sundown posts here. So, I guess the Sundown SAE-1000D has the advantage.

I'll probably buy a couple of new Mags I'm sure they'll make a rotation into my vehicle. I've owned a Mag of every generation, so why stop now?

would like to get 2 of them but the VC configuration doesn't match up well with my SAZ-1500D...

Any reason I can't run the SAZ-1500D at 0.5ohm if I'm very kind and gentle with the gain setting (like setting it at 1700-1800rms)?
