hey guys, im trying to get back into car audio and i bought 2 mk III's about 2 months ago but i already had the pdx-m12 amp. I had a shop wire it for me being i didnt have much time to do so and they are faster anyways. my question is that the shop said they wired the subs so they wont be over the 450 rms power rating. the amp puts out 1200 rms mono at RMS . with my truck at idle my current is 12.4 v with my subs turned 3/4 way up.
* Per channel into 4 Ohms: (@14.4V Ƈ%THD+N) 1200W x 1 * Per channel into 2 Ohms: (@14.4V Ƈ%THD+N) 1200W x 1 is this possible ? and if not how much power would each speaker be geting ? any info would be much appreciated. thanks! |

If the shop wired the coils in series each BM mkIII will present an 8 Ohm load. They could have adjusted the gain properly as well. Just because the amp is rated for more power doesn't mean it can't be adjusted for lower power output.
