I have never seen them on ambulances, but I will just have to look closer.

I have seen them a lot on Gas trucks and trucks for the gas company (all those trucks that stop at any and all RR crossing just to be safe) and I think rail road trucks. You will see them on the back bumpers and stuff usually just chains though to ground out any static electricity every now and then.

Seriously guys, save your money. If concrete/asphalt were static dissipative, there would be no need for expensive flooring in electronics fabs/repair facilities.

How do I know so much about static dissipating materials, you might ask (or not, but I'll ask it for you ). When I was in the AF, stationed at Dyess AFB, TX, I was the flight ESD program manager. It was my job to know all there was to know about ESD - what causes it, how it's controlled, what can dissipate it. Concrete and asphalt are NOT static dissipative. In other words, this is like the Tornado and EBay turbo.

The rubber piece that is hanging down underneath the 'Stang is really the rubber gromet from underneath the gas tank mounting strap. This is pretty common to see hanging down. It is not a ground strap at all.
