Default spl enclosure for Mag v3

So I have a bone stock 07 Rav4 that I need to spend some money on before I can pick up a Mag v4 for it.

In the meantime, I have a Mustang with a Mag v3 in it. The Rav4 can be my SQ car, while I fool around with the Mustang and see how loud a v3 can get.

Right now, I have the v3 in a 2 ft^3 tuned to about 33 Hz. I have my old Massive P1000.1 hooked up to it giving it 1000 watts @ 1 ohm. The car has stock electrical with a stock 130 amp alt. I metered it on a TL with the mic above the dash, and the car sealed up. I managed a 136.8 @ 43 Hz.

I'm happy with it, but I do want to see my Mag manage 140 dBs I was thinking maybe building a box about 2.5 ft^3 tuned to about 40 Hz. Will this make a big difference? Will 1000 Watts get me to 140 with this box? If not, will 1500 watts do?

I know there's a lot of variables, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

BTW,I want to spend as little as possible on the Mustang. I need to save my money on a head unit or OEM sound processor for the Rav4 so I can hook up my SAE-1000 and buy a Mag v4. So if I can't get to 140 in the Mustang, I'll just leave it alone and save $50.

Well MDF is rather inexpensive long as you have the means to cut it down. I really wish the old SI forums existed still because I have tons of questions on my old BM10 and 12's and the answers were there. One thing you might check is the realmofexcursion.com website and watch the videos there on the mag v3. They normally say what type of box they are using and sometimes the results.

Thanks, and I checked it out. I think I'll do one like SnoopDans where it's 2.5ft^3 @ 45 Hz. He had 146.9 db with 5000W. I'll try out that enclosure with 1500W and see if it get's me in the 140s.

Also, I find it funny that your name is Impact9. I post in Hawaiicaraudio.net and there's a guy on there named Impact that used to be a SI dealer (when SI had dealers). I pmed him a few times talking about this. I thought you was him. But your from Kansas not Hawaii.

Post any questions you have on any SI products past or current and you'll get your answers back.
