Well the Mag was originally named Magnum, but we got a nice little (read the sarcasm there) letter from Mitek telling us how they had the name protected and that we were tarnishing their "Magnum" brand of off-road subwoofer enclosures. So now it's just Mag. It was originally named Magnum after a kart chassis. ...and the gun. My dad and I are big into enduro-kart racing and we loved the name Magnum for a kart chassis so we decied to try and use it for a subwoofer.

The name BM came from two places. It comes from Bad Motherf*cker first and foremost and will hold more true than ever in the shallow subw market once the BM's hit the market. After we decided on that we found out that BM could also stand for "Baby Mag" since they are below the Mag line. But BM really stands for the first one.
