Any sub can be used ported but you will need a lot and a lot of space and EQ tuning available.
Regarding the BM, if you look at the T/S, you'll see that it won't work in ported alignment. Yes you can use them in a ported box but you will only be able to use them with let's say 200rms for both, EQ the low end like crazy and so forth.

Just making things up really, but I remember someone giving an explanation like the one above for the SI Mag v.4

PS: Have your amp fixed and report back with feelings. If you look @ the T/S, you can see that the FS is way lower on the BM meaning it will go lower effortlessly.
